The Robox Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) are designed to make human-machine interaction simple, intuitive, and highly efficient. Through the RDE software, throught the RDT project, communication with the Motion Controller is possible via the BBC3 protocol over TCP/IP, ensuring variable exchange as well as file upload and download.
Each terminal also features integrated remote service software, enabling extremely simple and fast internet access.

RPC
RPCs are industrial PCs based on fanless Intel processors, designed for the development of sophisticated operator interfaces aimed at simplifying the use of the controlled machine. Thanks to the ability to run customized software and the availability of displays in various sizes, RPCs adapt to complex production environments and advanced graphical interfaces. The RPC family, in addition to being programmed via RDE, being PCs, can also run custom applications based on development environments such as VB and .NET, offering the maximum freedom of customization.
RHMI
The embedded operator terminals RHMI, based on fanless ARM processors, are designed to provide a simple yet comprehensive interface. They are available with display sizes ranging from 5.7” to 15”.
RIG-8
The RIG-8 is a handheld HMI, designed for the development of sophisticated operator interfaces aimed at simplifying the use of the controlled machine.
Its key feature is portability, making it particularly suitable for use in robotic applications.
FAQ
What is the main advantage of having Dual Gigabit Ethernet on this HMI?
Dual Gigabit Ethernet is crucial for modern automation. It enables network segmentation, for example by dedicating one port to the control network (towards PLCs and I/O) and the other to the company supervision network (MES/ERP). In addition, it supports industrial protocols with redundancy and ensures high data throughput.
What is the expected support lifecycle for the Windows 10 2019 LTSC operating system?
The LTSC (Long-Term Servicing Channel) version of Windows 10 is specifically designed for industrial devices, offering extended support (up to 10 years from Microsoft’s release date) and enhanced stability, with fewer forced updates, thereby reducing operational risks.
Is the CFast memory intended for the operating system or for data? Can it be replaced by the user?
The 30GB removable CFast drive can be used for various purposes, such as critical data logging or as a backup/quick recovery disk for the system image. It is designed for front access or otherwise easy access, allowing fast maintenance and data migration without fully disassembling the HMI.
Is the REMOTE SERVICE software required for operation, or is it an optional feature?
The REMOTE SERVICE software is included with the HMI. It is an essential added value that enables secure remote assistance via VPN. It allows technicians to access, diagnose, and resolve issues on the plant remotely, drastically reducing downtime and travel costs.
Does the HMI support the installation of third-party SCADA software?
Yes. The HMI is equipped with a standard 64-bit Windows 10 LTSC operating system and a powerful Atom X7 Quad-Core CPU with 8GB of RAM. This makes it fully compatible with most leading SCADA and supervision software on the market, in addition to our dedicated RTM runtime.
Can I connect an external monitor to the HMI?
Yes, the HMI is equipped with a DisplayPort++ V1.2. This video output allows you to duplicate or extend the display to an external monitor, a feature useful for supervision stations or control rooms.
