High performance for demanding applications
Computing power in a compact size
In a mere 55x80x34 mm and a total volume of almost 1/7 of its big brother RP-2, it represents the milestone of miniaturization without sacrificing computing power. It can be used in really demanding applications with a high number of axes to control. It allows the full performance of the EtherCAT fieldbus to be exploited by being able to achieve a cyclic data exchange frequency of 2 kHz (500 μs).
Processor and memory
- ARM Cortex A9 Dual Core (800 MHz)
- 1 GB DRAM
- Micro SD flash memory
- 512 KB RAM retentive memory ram for parameters and alarm history storage
Common communications
- EtherCAT Master: 2 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet channels master fieldbus to connect drives and/or I/O (CoE, SoE, EoE). They can also be used as general purpose Ethernet channels.
- Ethernet: 4 10/100 Mbit/s channels with internal swith for general purposes (TCP/IP, UDP, Modbus/TCP, Ethernet/IP, OPC-UA, TFTP)
- CANbus: DS301, DS401, DS402, DeviceNet, Robox Cnet protocols support for axis drive and/or remote I/O
- USB-C serial channel for direct connection to PC (Robox BBC/31)
Compatibility
OPC Server, OPC UA Server, ActiveX, rLib for Qt, Java, .NET and C++
Additional communications
μRP-2 | AS1019.001
Standard configuration
μRP-2 Axioline | AS1019.011
Standard configuration + Axioline Master Bus or communications with Axioline peripherals (see “Expandability and diagnostics”).
The addition of the WoM Module allows the integration of 1 10/100 Mbit/s channel with WAN functionality.
Expandability and diagnostics
- Compatible with remote I/O boards (with no need for AXL-F-BK-C coupler) through the appropriate AXC-μBS.
- Remote service
- Real-time clock calendar

- 55 x 80 x 48,8 mm – 35 mm DIN guide in accordance with EN60715 standard (AS1019.011)
Programming
μRP-2 is fully programmable through RDE, Robox’s development environment for flexible, scalable and high-performance motion control solutions.
uRP-2 at the heart of RoBee
The μRP-2 motion controller was developed to meet Oversonic Robotics‘ need for a powerful yet ultra-compact axis control system, designed for integration into the RoBee humanoid robot, which is engineered to operate in industrial and healthcare environments.
Thanks to our collaboration with Oversonic, we developed the μRP-2, retaining the same power and reliability as the RP-2, our highest-performing controller, but in a miniaturized format, making it perferct for integration into confined spaces.
